Aunt Chrissy Is Better Than Christmas!

It is a new year, we are 8 months into our adventure, and it’s been 6 months since we’ve seen family or friends. The holidays are over, the boat work drags on and we need an important piece of equipment from the United States. There is only one solution: Christina will have to get on a plane and deliver it.

She arrived on an evening flight and the next morning, as the kids were hanging around, she popped out of her room and asked the question they will never forget, “Anywhere I can get some breakfast around here?” It was epic.

Our week with her was everything we needed. We showed her our favorite beaches, took her to our favorite restaurants, ate Turkish breakfast on the water in Fethiye, Jordan paraglided, and she visited the boat for the first time. Seeing our life through her eyes was the reminder we all needed that even on our worst days, it’s not so shabby.

Aunt Chrissy played games, danced on the beach, snuggled at bedtime, sat in the middle of the backseat of the car. She was torn in half by two kids so eager for her attention and affection that Alexander and Senol are lucky she made it home in one piece. We missed Chrissy’s boys so much and we are forever grateful they shared her for a week. The visit was too short but the happiness she brought will last a long time.

*If any of you are reading this and pondering a visit, we can’t stress this enough — please come! We’d love to host you!
